SUBJECT: Defense of Aachen

BACKGROUND:

During the night of October 1st , 1944, the US artillery bombed the city of Aachen, at dawn the 1st Army of the United States broke the Siegfried line. Despite the attempts of various Panzer units, the Americans managed to keep the breach open and, after several days of violent fighting, the Germans were surrounded by allied forces. The troops rejected the surrender and launched a counterattack to try to break the encirclement formed by the Americans, but the attempt failed.

Indeed, Aachen is a symbolic city in the history of Germany and it was the first great city in German territory reached by the allies on the western front; all this led Hitler to order its defense at any cost. The US command then decided to concentrate on the siege of the city and its isolation from the supply and communication routes.

MISSION:


The outermost perimeter of the city has been broken by the enemy. Our comrades will cover us while we pick up all the supplies and retreat to a more interior defensive line to reorganize our defenses. Honor their sacrifice.


There are three defense lines, if we lose the first one (checkpoint) we will fold back to the second one (main square statue), if this also falls, we will retreat to the third one (cathedral) and there we will fight for victory or death . If we run out of ammunition we will use our bayonets. The Führer has entrusted us this glorious mission, we will not let the invader put one foot in our "Vaterland".


Build barricades, barbed wire or bunkers with whatever you have, but do not let the enemy conquer our city symbols.


MILITARY INTELLIGENCE:

The enemy is attacking fiercely and has a large number of tanks. Our tank destroyer is very low in gasoline and ammunition, make every panzerfaust shot count and place the Pak40 anti-tank gun in key positions. Do not forget to tow it if you need to retreat, do not give equipment to the enemy.

Engineers have the ability to build small defenses, bunkers and static weapons.


IMPORTANT NOTES:


Try not to take things out of the backpack, some objects such as radio or mines are stuck by script, and if they are taken out of the backpack you will not be able to get them back inside again.
